Sofa, mattress and car seats torched in middle of Sheffield street
A sofa, mattress and car seats were dumped in the middle of a Sheffield street and torched in an arson attack.
The fly-tipped waste was found engulfed in flames on The Circle, Manor, just after 7.15pm yesterday.
Firefighters spent over an hour dealing with the incident.
Fly-tipped rubbish was also torched on Guilthwaite Common Lane, Upper Whiston, Rotherham, last night.
A pile of rubbish was set alight in a park on Littleworth Lane, Monk Bretton, Barnsley, just before 11.30pm and just after midnight crews from Barnsley dealt with a coach fire on Longfields Road, Athersley, which is thought to have been started deliberately.
Sheffield firefighters dealt with an early morning arson attack today after a wheelie bin was set alight close to a children’s centre on Norton Avenue, Gleadless.
