The 30-year-old was arrested yesterday over the death of a man found critically injured on Club Garden Road, Highfield, in the early hours.

Police said a 28-year-old man was found ‘laid in the street’ at around 2.15am yesterday.

He was taken to hospital but could not be saved and was pronounced dead a short time later.

The man arrested over the death remains in police custody for questioning this afternoon.

The place where the injured man was found was cordoned off yesterday along with a nearby flat, which was under police guard.

There was a heavy police presence in the area as officers pieced together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
