Sheffield boy, 16, still in police custody after murder arrest

A Sheffield boy, aged 16, remains in police custody today after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

The teen was arrested over a fatal stabbing of 31-year-old Ricky Collins in Killamarsh, near Sheffield, earlier this week.

Ricky, who was a father, was found seriously injured at the junction of Westthorpe Road and Upperthorpe Road at around 10pm on Monday, March 29.

He was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

Emergency service were called on the night of the attack and informed of a disturbance at a house on Westthorpe Road.

When police and paramedics arrived they found Ricky critically injured in the street.

In addition to the teenage boy arrested over the death, a 43-year-old man, also from Sheffield, is in police custody on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The murder is being treated by Derbyshire detectives as an ‘isolated incident’ but police patrols have been stepped up.
