Jodie said: “He always loves riding his bike to and from school and playing out on it with his friends.”

In a post uploaded to Facebook, she said: “THANKYOU everyone who's shared the CCTV of the sh*t bag who's nicked Tyler's bike. He only got if for Xmas, bless him. Can't have nothing anymore. Why people think it's OK to take what’s not yours is beyond me.”

She added: “I was looking out for my son coming home and actually saw the lad who’s pinched his bike ride down Main Street towards Birley Spa Lane. He deliberately rode on the wrong side of the road, nearly causing an accident with an oncoming car. He then went up Birley Spa Lane towards Dyke Vale.

“Also would like to say a massive thank you to the lad that I saw in the bus stop next to shops on Birley Spa Lane who had a ride around the estate to have a look for us. It was really appreciated.”
