Machon Bank in Nether Edge is taped off this morning and under police guard, with concerned residents reporting a possible shooting.

If confirmed, it would be the third shooting in Sheffield in one day.

Just after midnight yesterday, three men were shot when a gun was fired towards them as they stood together in Grimesthorpe Road, Burngreave.

Two hours later, a 53-year-old man dialed 999 to report that he had been shot in Club Garden Road, Sharrow.

All four men were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Just three weeks ago, a 21-year-old man was critically injured when she was shot in his chest in Grimesthorpe Road.
