Derbyshire Police branded the parking ‘dangerous’.

Following suit, South Yorkshire Police has issued a warning that action will also be taken against motorists parking illegally in Sheffield.

The Sheffield North West Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “It is an offence to park next to double white lines.

“We will be enforcing this legislation in areas within North West Sheffield including Rivelin Valley Road and Manchester Road.

“Signage will be improved, but as it's in the highway code, you've already had your warning.”
