Police hunt man who absconded from hospital

Police have revealed an image of the man at the centre of the search in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police are asking for help to trace Ashley Gibson.

Gibson is wanted for escaping lawful custody after absconding from Northern General Hospital at 9.34pm on 12 April.

This follows an incident in Handsworth at 1.20am on the same day, when traffic officers observed a vehicle acting suspiciously.

The vehicle then subsequently failed to stop and was involved in a collision.

Gibson, 28, is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, of big build and has short hair. He has a tribal tattoo on his forearm, and ‘GIBO’ also tattooed on his arm.
