Police given false details by those breached Covid rules in Sheffield suburb

Police officers managed to track down individuals who flouted Covid rules in a Sheffield suburb despite being given false details by those involved.

Sheffield South East Neighbourhood Police Team said they have issued a number of warning letters to parents following reports of young people gathering on Stradbroke Road.

In a Facebook post, they said: "We have today issued a number of warning letters to parents to remind them that we are currently still in lockdown and what the valid reasons are for leaving the house.

"Eight people inside a bus stop with no social distancing is not acceptable, especially when they were not waiting for a bus.

"Despite being given false details by some of those involved, our detective PCSO's have managed to identify their correct details and have paid a visit to their real addresses."

On February 19, the same police team issued warning letters to parents after further reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.
