One man arrested after attempted Meadowhall jewellery robbery
One man was arrested today (June 19) after an attempted robbery in Meadowhall car park where he tried to steal jewellery off another person.
South Yorkshire Police said they were called to Meadowhall’s orange car park at 2.57pm this afternoon following reports of a robbery.
An off-duty officer reported that two men, riding a suspected stolen moped, had attempted to steal jewellery from a member of the public.

When challenged, the men became aggressive and were subsequently involved in an altercation with the officer and several members of the public.
Numerous police cars were deployed to the scene and one man, in his 20s, was detained.
