Police said the schoolboy, who was shot in his leg and needed surgery, was an innocent bystander shot when a gun was fired from a passing car.

The man in police custody today was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to possess a firearm and ammunition.

Eight other arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, with two men charged so far.

Devon Gregory, 23, of Heeley Green, Heeley and Stephen Dunford, 25, of Fellbrigg Road, Arbourthorne, are remanded in custody accused of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.”
