Sheffield Crown Court heard on March 9 how Jamie Ellis, 41, of Belmont Avenue, Chapeltown, admitted four related offences between January and February. He pleaded guilty to three counts of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and to attempting to meet a child after sexual grooming.Andrew Swaby, defending, said the defendant is of previous good character and Mr Swaby proposed Ellis would be suitable for a pre-sentence report with the probation service.Recorder Adrian Waterman QC told Ellis: “The fact I am going to order a pre-sentence report does not indicate that I have formed a view of what the likely sentence is.

“The sentence options remain open and I am sure you realise these offences attract a custodial sentence.”

Recorder Waterman QC adjourned the case until March 30 for sentencing.
