Kavan’s mum, Emma Hamilton, claims her son’s phone was removed from the crime scene as he lay dying on the ground.

Posting on Facebook, she said the theft may have been to distance those at the scene from the incident.

She said: “Didn’t matter that there was someone, that being Kav, dying, bleeding, laying on the floor, wondering what’s happening. You didn’t care,” she said.

Four men have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery on the night of the murder.

A man was caught on CCTV running away from the crime scene but remains at large two years later.

Detectives believe Ahmed Farrah could hold vital information about the stabbing and a £5,000 Crimestoppers reward for information leading to his arrest is on offer.

The 31-year-old was treated for facial injuries at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital on the same night that Kavan was stabbed.

Detectives believe he was wounded in the same incident in which Kavan was stabbed.

On the second anniversary of the killing, Kavan’s loved ones issued a statement in which they said: “We really hoped that he would have the justice he deserves by now, but unfortunately that is not the case.

“Kavan was just beautiful inside and out, he was polite and caring with the biggest heart and smile that anybody who met him would remember. He made the dullest times brighter just for being him.

“We all live in hope that those responsible for taking away our angel will pay for their actions.

“Our lives have changed forever without our Kav, so please help and allow us to put our beautiful Kavan to rest and give us some closure. We all deserve this.”
