A man was caught on CCTV running away from the crime scene but has never been tracked down.

Detectives believe Ahmed Farrah could hold vital information about the incident and a £5,000 Crimestoppers reward for information leading to his arrest remains available.

Farrah, also known as Reggie, was captured on CCTV at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital on the same night that Kavan was stabbed.

The 31-year-old returned to the hospital the following day but then disappeared.

He was treated for facial injuries believed to have been sustained in the same incident in which Kavan was stabbed.

Farrah has never been reported as missing by his family in Sheffield.

All his friends, relatives and acquaintances have been visited by the police and served with harbouring notices, warning that anyone found shielding him faces arrest and prosecution.

No independent witnesses to the stabbing have ever come forward.

Posting on Facebook, Kavan’s mum, Emma Hamilton, said she believes her family will ‘probably’ never get justice.

She added: “People heard and seen was happened the evening of 14th August. Unfortunately we live in a city (where) as long as it’s not their child (they) don’t care.

“I hope all that sat on info never have to experience this.

“You all go back to your lives, mine’s destroyed forever as somebody thought it was ok to take his. I miss my boy.”

Four men have been charged with conspiracy to rob on the night of the fatal stabbing and are due to stand trial at Sheffield Crown Court in March.

Anyone with any information about the murder should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 827 of August 14.
