Man suffers life-threatening head injury after being followed by five men in Sheffield city centre

A man suffered a life-threatening head injury after apparently being attacked by five men in Sheffield city centre.

The victim was followed along Westfield Terrace by the group at 11.20pm on Saturday night when it appears the incident took place. Police say the cause of his injuries is currently unknown.

He had just left the Frog and Parrot pub on Division Street. CCTV footage shows five men walking in the same direction.

Detectives would like to speak to anybody who was in the area around that time who might be able to help them piece together what happened.

A stretch of Westfield Terrace was this morning sealed off with tape and under police guard and a police car was parked at the crime scene. The road connects Division Street with West Street.
