Two lanes of the carriageway were closed for a number of hours, causing long tailbacks, while officers carried out their investigations into the circumstances of the collision.

They now want to trace witnesses to the incident, particularly motorists with dash cam footage.

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 349 of June 2.

Dash cam footage can be emailed through to [email protected] with the incident number in the subject title.
