Ahmed Ziad Ahmed, aged 21, of Stubbin Lane, Firth Park, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and possession of criminal property.

Joseph Bingham, 22, of no fixed abode, also appeared and was charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

They were arrested in a police operation on Stubbin Lane on Sunday, May 31.

Armed officers were deployed to the Firth Park area of the city following reports that a man had been seen in possession of a firearm.

A gun was seized by officers during the operation.
