A man found unconscious on a footpath in South Yorkshire died after efforts to revive him failed.

Emergency services were called after a 63-year-old man was found unconscious and not breathing on a footpath near to Lord Street, Hoyle Mill, Barnsley, last Friday morning.

South Yorkshire Police said: “We received a call at 7.32am from Yorkshire Ambulance Service alerting us to reports of a man unconscious and not breathing on the footpath near Lord Street in Hoylem Mill, Barnsley.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.”
