Man arrested after shooting on Sheffield estate

A man has been arrested after a shooting on a Sheffield estate.

At around 5pm this afternoon, multiple shots were fired at a vehicle on Yew Lane in Parson Cross.

Armed police responded and arrested a 27-year-old man from Sheffield on suspicion of firearms offences.

No injuries have been reported, however there is thought to be damage to the car involved.

Sheffield Chief Inspector Helen Lewis said: “I appreciate this incident will have been incredibly concerning, but we have quickly arrested a man in connection with the incident.

“To reassure the local community, we will have armed police and neighbourhood officers in this area throughout the evening, speaking to residents and reviewing nearby CCTV footage in order to understand the exact circumstances.
