Tributes have been paid to a young Rotherham dad who plunged to his death from a motorway bridge in South Yorkshire.

Levi Thomson, aged 24, died after he fell onto the northbound carriageway of the M1 between Junction 31 at Aston and Woodall Services at around 3.20am on Wednesday, April 15.

He was struck by two lorries and pronounced dead at the scene.

In a family tribute, Levi was described as a ‘much-loved father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and a loyal friend to anyone he knew’.

It said: “He is gone but never forgotten.”

Tributes have also been paid online, among hundreds of messages of support left to Levi’s family on Facebook.

Jess Lou described Levi as a ‘great character,’ Lauren Parker said he will be ‘missed by so many’ and Lauren Kelly said he was ‘such a lovely person’.

Remembering Levi, Mark Randall said: “Every time I saw him he would always have a massive smile on his face.”

Paying tribute, Nicole Martin said: “Levi was a lovely young man and it was an absolute pleasure to know him and to have many memories to cherish. My heart breaks for all his family.”

Lee Wright posted: “He was a good man, respected by many and will be missed by all.”

Alex Ogden said Levi ‘had a smile that could brighten any room’.

He added: “I’m lucky to have known such a man respected by everyone, missed by many.”

Thomas Green said: “Levi was an absolute top lad and a good mate to me for a lot of years.”
