The vehicle reportedly failed to stop for officers and a “short pursuit” followed, which ended three miles away in the Derby Street area.

The force tweeted a picture of Lichford Road open space off Derby Street, which showed tyre marks in the grass where the vehicle had driven through the area of green space.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify them.
