Hapless Sheffield driver gets STUCK down narrow path after ramming police officers

A man is in custody this afternoon after he rammed police officers in Sheffield during a pursuit.

The 32-year-old was behind the wheel of a blue Ford Fiesta which failed to stop for officers.

The car, which was on cloned number plates, was followed and was eventually brought to a halt on Beldon Road, Arbourthorne, after the driver rammed the Fiesta into a police car in a bid to escape.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Our officers tried to use preemptive tactics to bring it to a halt but the driver rammed his way out and a short pursuit ensued.

“Unfortunately for the driver who thought it was a good idea to drive down a narrow path he picked a path that was just a bit to narrow and got stuck. One to the cells for interview later.”

The arrested motorist is being held on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop.
