Former Sheffield United star Harry Maguire 'arrested' on holiday following bar altercation

Former Sheffield United player and current Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire is reported to have been arrested on a Greek island following an incident.

The Sheffield born England defender, who grew up in Mosborough, is reported to have been involved in an alleged disturbance on the island of Mykonos last night (Thursday, August 20).

Manchester United have said they are aware of the incident involving their star centre back.

In a statement the club said: “The club is aware of an alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos last night.

“Contact has been made with Harry, and he is fully co-operating with the Greek authorities.

“At this time we will be making no further comment.”

The 27-year-old started out in football through the youth system at Sheffield United before breaking into the first team back in 2011.

Maguire, who won the Blades Player of the Year three times and played a total of 166 games for the team.
