Teenage girl ‘traumatised’ after gang raid Domino's Pizza armed with baseball bats

An 18-year-old staff member at a Domino’s in Rotherham was left ‘traumatised’ after an armed robbery took place at the take away on Monday night (August 17).

Police say that they received reports of five men entering the shop on Greasbrough Street at around 10.30pm armed with baseball bats.

It is reported that the men used the bats to threaten a staff member, before attempting to force entry to the safe.

Officers say that the group then left the scene in a silver coloured vehicle. No-one was injured in the incident and nothing was stolen from the premises.

Sourth Yorkshire Police have said they are investigating the incident, and that enquiries are underway to identify those involved.

Anyone with information that could help identify the robbers should call 101 quoting incident number 817 of 17 August when asked.

Rachael Giles, a spokesperson for Domino’s said: “The incident is being investigated by the police so we are unable to comment, except to say our priority is always the safety of our team members.

"Our Shift Manager was working on her shift alongside two delivery drivers. All our stores are fitted with CCTV and team members are trained in how to deal with intruders.

"We’re supporting our colleague and giving the police our full cooperation to ensure the culprits are caught swiftly.”
