- Emergency services responded to calls at 2.15am and found a 28-year-old with serious injuries.

- He was taken to hospital by ambulance but despite the efforts of medics could not be saved and was pronounced dead a short time later.

- A 30-year-old man was arrested in Sheffield on suspicion of murder and remained in police custody last night.

- The victim’s identity nor the cause of death have yet been released by South Yorkshire Police.

- A police cordon was in place where the injured man was found while enquiries were carried out yesterday.

- A nearby flat was also cordoned off, with officers guarding both the front and rear doors of the property.

- A window was boarded up and blood stains could be seen near to the front entrance.

- Crime scene investigation officers worked both inside and outside the flat.

- In May, a man was shot on Club Garden Road. The 53-year-old was taken to hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds to his arm and leg.

- Detectives have not yet revealed whether yesterday’s murder is being treated as an isolated incident or whether it was a targeted attack.

- Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 99 of November 15.
