Endcliffe Park rape: Police hunt continues after 18-year-old woman attacked in Sheffield

Detectives are continuing to investigate a report than an 18-year-old woman was raped in a popular Sheffield Park.

The alarm was raised shortly after an alleged sex attack in a car in Endcliffe Park at around 11.30pm on Tuesday, March 29.

Large crowds had gathered in the sunshine in the park that day as lockdown restrictions eased, allowing groups to meet up again outdoors.

The rape is reported to have taken place in a silver or grey Mercedes which had been parked in one of the spaces at the entrance to the park.

South Yorkshire Police said the man accused of the rape was Asian, aged in his 20s and was wearing a white T-shirt and black joggers or jeans at the time.

He drove off in the direction of Hunter’s Bar roundabout.

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 13 of March 31.
