Officers in the Sheffield North West Neighbourhood policing team said they were ‘massively disappointed’ at reports that people had been ‘prowling around Deepcar’ at 3.30am yesterday attempting to break into houses.

After two failed attempts, thieves stole two vehicles from a house in the city suburb.

In a Facebook post, the police team said: “We have a real pride in our patch, and so when we got some information that one of the stolen cars might still be in the Stocksbridge area we roped in our colleagues from the Walkley team and together we hunted the suspects.
