Closure enforcement notice served on Sheffield sauna 'The Boiler Room'
A notice taped to the door by police says the closure is to put a stop to alleged “anti social behaviour”
A Sheffield sauna whose online policy states “what goes on in here stays in here” has been forcibly shut by police.

An enforcement notice was served on The Boiler Room, in Saville Street East, Attercliffe, on April 13, 2026, with a laminated copy now taped to the premises’ front door.
The notice cites that offices have “reasonable grounds to suspect that the use of the premises” has result in “nuisance to members of the public,” and that entrance by any other than the business’ owners is now banned.

At the time of writing (5.55pm, April 17), The Boiler Room website only reads: “CLOSED: The Boiler Room Sauna Sheffield is no longer trading. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
However, web archive screenshots from March this year show the sauna’s policy for visitors, including dress codes, whether guests can bring their own adult toys, and advertising the various accessories available to borrow.
One page reads: “Cruise safely - Your comfort and safety are our main concerns, hence the cleanliness of our venue, and the discretion.
“Unlike playing outdoors, which is risky, we offer a very safe place to play, and our friendly staff are always on hand if you do have any problems or questions.
“We would like to encourage all of our customers and visitors to feel at home here with their sexual preferences and activities, bring your fetish gear and feel at home and have a good time without fear of judgement.”
Facilities reportedly included spas, pools, private rooms, bathhouses, and a free cup of tea on arrival.
South Yorkshire Police was contacted for a comment.
