This week’s line up of dogs waiting for a home in South Yorkshire are such a characterful bunch.
Thornberry Animal Sanctuary and Helping Yorkshire Poundies have got another stunning round up of pups looking for a couch to curl up on for good - will you take on home?
How about Chilli, who Thornberry Animal Sanctuary say is a Pomeranian cross - so unlike your typical Pom, he is about as big as a Labrador.
Or there’s Meg the Jack Russell Terrier, who at 12 years old is looking for her retirement home.
Take a look at these 13 dogs up for rehoming in South Yorkshire in our gallery below, where you can also find a link to their adoption page.

5. Marnie the American Bulldog - "an absolute big softie"
"Marnie is amazing – she LOVES everyone she meets! She is a 6 yr old American Bulldog and an absolute big softie who greets everyone with the wiggliest bum! Marnie needs a home (or foster) with a family who have large breed experience just because she’s a big girl, so has strength behind her if she does pull on lead, but she mostly walks very well on lead and listens well to asking her to slow up if she’s getting a bit excited, but when she does pull to something excited, she will need someone confident and capable of handling her. Marnie is fully housetrained, is very quiet and settled when she’s left on her own, and doesn’t chew, so we think she’ll be happy being left on her own for a few hours with no issues at all. She also travels well – what a good girl!! Marnie will be best suited to a pet free home at the moment. Marnie has sadly had her ears ‘cropped’ at some point in her past – this makes her appearance much harsher than the reality of what she is really like and we really hope people can see past this and see her for the loving big softie that she really is. Please note: Marnie is NOT a banned breed (XL Bully), and we have official paperwork to support this. She’s just an all round amazing girl who deserves the absolute world from now on." - https://helpingyorkshirepoundies.co.uk/large/marnie/ | HYP

6. Bonnie the lurcher - "would thrive in a calm, predictable home"
"Bonnie first came to Thornberry as a puppy. She has always had limited vision, but this has never stopped her from enjoying life, exploring the world around her or having fun! Sadly, through no fault of her own, Bonnie has found herself back in our care and is now desperately searching for a new family to call her own. As a beautiful Lurcher with limited sight, Bonnie will need adopters who understand her needs and are happy to help her navigate the world using her other senses. She would thrive in a calm, predictable home where she can build confidence at her own pace, feel safe and be surrounded by love and understanding. She loves getting out for walks, enjoying playtime and spending time with her favourite people. We feel Bonnie would be best suited to a quiet, pet-free home with teenage children or older. As she cannot always see people or animals approaching, she can be startled if caught off guard, so a household that understands the importance of approaching her gently and letting her know they are nearby is essential. Although Bonnie can make friends with other animals, introductions need to be slow and carefully managed. For this reason, we believe she would be happiest as the only pet in the home, where she can relax and feel secure. She is house trained, can be left for several hours a day and travels well in the car." - https://www.thornberryanimalsanctuary.org/animals/luna/ | Thornberry Animal Sanctuary

7. Stuart the Staffy crossbreed - "best described as 100mph"
"Stuart! Stuart is a giddy, young and fun boy who is best described as 100mph. He’s happiest when out on an adventure, and suits a household that are very active. Stuart is friendly, but very ‘enthusiastic’ with new people, and would thrive in a home that are confident to implement training and boundaries that he needs." - https://www.thornberryanimalsanctuary.org/animals/stuart/ | Thornberry Animal Sanctuary

8. Graham the Boston Terrier - "loves nothing more than playing with his favourite toys"
"Graham has spent some time in foster care and is now ready to find his forever home. Despite arriving as a stray, he has shown himself to be a very settled boy. Graham is full of character and loves nothing more than playing with his favourite toys and having fun. He’s a happy, lively little chap with a big personality and all the charm you’d expect from a Boston Terrier. He’s also very people-oriented, so he’ll thrive in a home where he can enjoy plenty of company, attention and quality time with his humans. Graham would prefer to be the only pet in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention for himself. He’s selective about which dogs he gets along with, so an experienced, confident handler who understands dog body language and can manage his interactions appropriately is essential. A little note about Graham’s health: He has luxating patellas in his hind legs. Thankfully, this doesn’t seem to bother him and it certainly doesn’t dampen his playful spirit! However, this is an important consideration for potential adopters, as it may affect insurance cover. He could live with teens" - https://www.thornberryanimalsanctuary.org/animals/graham/ | Thornberry Animal Sanctuary
