Customers advised to enjoy "one last weekend" at popular Sheffield city centre bar Firepit before closure

“For a whole decade, we've been a part of some of Sheffield's best nights out”

A popular bar that has been in business for a decade now has announced it’s closure.

Described as “Sheffield’s best dive bar,” Firepit has been a staple of West Street for the past 10 years.

With live sports, bottomless brunches, and music playing through to 4am every night, the bar has been a popular spot in the city’s nightlife scene.

However, it has now been announced that Firepit is set to close down for good next week.

In a statement, the bar’s management said: “After 10 incredible years, the time has come for us to close our doors.

“For a whole decade, we've been a part of some of Sheffield's best nights out. We've seen so many faces come through our doors, and made so many memories along the way.

“10 years is a hell of a run - we're incredibly grateful for every minute of it, and we could not have done it without your support.”

They went on to say they have “loved every second” when announcing the closure.

The news was met with sadness from customers, with one person commenting on Facebook “love this place,” while another said “gutted to lose another great pub.”

However, there is one last chance to enjoy this much-loved spot before it’s gone.

“We've got one last weekend to do this properly,” Firepit said in a statement.

“So get everyone together, head down to Firepit and enjoy one last drink.

“Let's give Firepit the send off it deserves.”
