The ticked-off tater was shared on Twitter by University of Sheffield journalism teacher Lindsay Pantry, after she spotted the spud just down from the Red Deer pub. The photo was shared in a tweet saying: “Did you lose your giant potato friend at the Sheffield University Regent Street car park? If so, he's b****y fuming”.

Lindsay said the potato face was there yesterday (October 31) as well, meaning it has been rather unhappily waiting to be picked back up for some time, and must have braved last night’s heavy rainfall alone. It is not yet known who the owner of this unhappy character is, but, considering the location, it could well have been a student night out accessory, after many Sheffield students headed out to enjoy the Halloween weekend.
