Viral shop announces its arrival at Meadowhall with free giveaway for first 1,000 customers
A new kiosk designed for customers to grab a treat while their shopping is coming to Sheffield
1,000 free cookies and donuts are coming to Sheffield next week to mark the imminent arrival of a new outlet at Meadowhall shopping centre.
Known for its oversized cookies, fresh donuts, cinnamon buns and cult following across the North West, Gooey is making its Sheffield debut with a new kiosk on Thursday July 23rd, bringing its much-loved bakes, specialty coffee and recently launched matcha range to one of South Yorkshire’s busiest shopping destinations.
First launched as a delivery-only service from within the back of a coffee shop at the start of the pandemic back in March 2020, Gooey is now hailed as one of Manchester’s busiest bakeries, while it’s also managed to establish more than 120,000 followers on Instagram in the process.

Gooey has made a real impact already in the last six years, with owners describing the move to Meadowhall as a real statement of just how far the brand has grown.
Jake Ansbro, co-owner at Gooey, said: “Gooey opening at Meadowhall is a big one for us. We're joining some very established names there, which feels like real recognition of how far Gooey has come. Sheffield has a great community feel, and we're excited to bring our classic Gooey bakes to a whole new audience there.”

To celebrate their opening, Gooey will be giving away 1,000 free Gooey cookies and donuts on July 23rd from midday.

Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: “Gooey has already built a huge following across the north, so it’s great to see the brand choose Meadowhall for its first location in Sheffield.
“From its cookies and doughnuts to coffee and matcha, it’s a great addition to our existing food and drink line-up and will give visitors something new - and I’m sure very tasty - to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming Gooey to Meadowhall later this month.”
Here are the opening hours of the Gooey store, which aims to offer customers excellent comfort food and community driven hospitality while they are shopping.
