The nominations for the British Restaurant Awards 2024 have been announced, with voting now open.
No Sheffield restaurants have made the shortlist for the overall restaurant of the year award.
But the nine establishments vying to be named the best restaurant in Sheffield include Italian, Indian, seafood and classic British restaurants, some of which have been recommended by the Michelin Guide.
The popular Sheffield takeaway Munchies, meanwhile, is one of eight venues nominated to be crowned the UK’s best takeaway restaurant. It’s up against takeaways in Bournemouth, London, Portsmouth, Belfast and Bristol.
The winners are set to be announced at the 6th Annual British Restaurant Awards ceremony at the Crown London Hotel on August 28.
Carluccio’s at Meadowhall was named Sheffield’s best restaurant in last year’s awards, while Neon Fish, on Archer Road, Millhouses, won in 2022.

5. Rafters
Rafters is another restaurant which is recommended in the Michelin Guide. The Sheffield institution, on Oakbrook Road, Nether Green, boasts an impressive 4.9/5 rating from 368 Google reviews, with diners raving about the 'absolutely tip top food, presentation and service'. 6. JÖRO
JÖRO has won rave reviews from critics since opening in the Krynkl shipping container complex at Shalesmoor, Kelham Island, in 2016, and is another Sheffield restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide. It combines the best of local produce such as Barnsley lamb with Nordic and Japanese-inspired flavours and techniques. It is due to move to a former paper mill near Oughtibridge, on the edge of the Peak District, this September, with its current home set to house Konjö, JÖRO's street food concept, serving more affordable Asian-inspired dishes. 7. Brocco on the Park
Brocco on the Park is a boutique hotel overlooking Endcliffe Park, with a hugely popular restaurant. It boasts a 4.4/5 rating from 374 Google reviews, with one diner calling the food 'divine'. 8. Turnip & Thyme
Turnip & Thyme, on Ecclesall Road, is one of the best restaurants in Sheffield and one of the narrowest. The family-run bistro prides itself on serving British comfort food done properly, such as honey glazed pork belly, and rack of lamb. It has a 4.8/5 Google rating from 190 reviews, with one diner describing it as a 'gorgeous restaurant with incredible food'.
