A number of charities in Sheffield and South Yorkshire, including the RSPCA and Thornberry Animal Sanctuary, have lots of lovely animals who have been rescued and are all in desperate need of a home.
Although rehoming a rescue dog can sometimes be challenging, it can also be one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences there is.
Staffordshire Bull Terrier, two years two months old.
Tess is a young excitable Staffy X , she is looking for a home where she will receive plenty of exercise with a family that can work on her training. She is not house trained so will need a patient owner who is prepared to accept accidents and work with her on toileting outdoors. She loves playing with a ball and knows basic commands. Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Boxer, 8 months old.
Tex is a young bouncy pup who is best suited to experienced owners. He is very boisterous and VERY strong on the lead! He will need all basic training including recall and loose lead training to help with this. As part of his adoption process Tex will need to attend training classes. He's a great character who has heaps of energy. He is best suited to children aged 14+ due to his bounciness and must have a garden to burn off some steam. Photo: Thornberry
Bichon Frise, 10 years 9 months.
Toby is an older gentleman looking for a quiet home where he can sit back and relax! He has lived a very sheltered life but has come on so much since being here. He loves a cuddle and will take himself off to bed after a short walk. He has some medical needs which will continue to be covered by Thornberry - so new owners must be able to commute here for vet visits when needed. Beagle, 8 years old.
Baxter is a bright beagle who is quite simply too clever! He definitely knows what he wants, when he wants it. Baxter must live in an adult only home where there are minimal visitors - he could potentially live with another relaxed dog(s) pending successful meets here on site. Baxter would thrive in a home with a family who are understanding of his history and have experience with dogs. Photo: Thornberry
