Last week, we got together some of the information for the dogs at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary, in North Anston, which you can look back on by clicking here.
If you think you could look after any of the following dogs, be sure to fill in the relevant forms on HYPS' or Blue Cross' website.
Ember sadly found herself homeless through absolutely no fault of her own. She is a nine-year-old malamute who is super friendly and will quickly roll on her back for belly rubs. Ember has settled down well with a good routine of nice walks and plenty of company. She is clean and tidy in her kennel, so seems to be housetrained. She walks well on lead. She can be a bit hit and miss with dogs – sometimes ignoring or grumbling at them. She should be the only dog in the home and not left alone for long periods.
Cali is a 2-year-old Staffy x American Bulldog cross. She is full of energy and ready to find her forever home. Cali equally does really settle well too, and is very chilled in her kennel. She is totally clean, tidy and quiet when she’s left in her kennel and is such a good girl. Cali knows plenty of commands and is a clever young girl who loves to please her owner. She is now fully vaccinated, chipped, neutered and is in very good health.
Billy, at 10-year-old Staffy cross, is being cared for by Helping Yorkshire Poundies. He had been abandoned in a property and was terribly underweight and limping. He has put on weight luckily, and has pain relief for his sore knees. He doesn’t let his knees stop him, and he loves to run and walk. He is very fit and super friendly. He is housetrained and knows lots of commands. He has shown no issues around other dogs. He is doing better at being left alone in his kennel, but when he moves into his new home he will need time and patience while he settles. He is so sad and desperately needs a loving home.
Sansa is the most gentle, sweet and loving 5 yr old Shepherd cross. She will bond very closely with her person and will be the most loyal friend. Sansa is immaculately clean and tidy in her kennel and has never had a single ‘accident’, so appears to be very well housetrained. She also knows plenty of basic commands. Sansa should live in a pet-free home with access to a secure garden.
