Last week, we got together some of the information for the dogs at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary, in North Anston, which you can look back on by clicking here.
If you think you could look after any of the following dogs, be sure to fill in the relevant forms on HYPS' or Blue Cross' website.
Tasha the Staffy is aged around eight or nine years old, and is very fit and well. She is super friendly, loves her walks and toys, and seems to think she is still a puppy! She is housetrained and sleeps downstairs overnight, but would prefer a home where she isn’t left alone long until she settles. She will need to be the only pet in the home. She can live with children aged 10+.
Benji, a 10-year-old Patterdale, is a proper little character who is looking for a home who love his breed. Benji is still full of energy, and loves getting out for walks and exploring. He is reactive on lead to dogs, but HYPS believe he will calm donw over time, with slow on-lead introduction to some walking friends. He really will make the best little companion .. all he asks for is some belly rubs in return!!
Bodhi is a very handsome boy who arrived at the shelter in terrible shape, and absolutely petrified. The eight-year-old crossbreed took a while to trust again, but he has transformed into a loveable, playful goofball, full of kisses and cuddles. He does not trust strangers, and needs very slow and careful introductions to anyone new. He is a very intelligent boy, fully housetrained, and he can be left alone for 5-6 hour periods at a time while he snuggles on the sofa. He needs medication for a skin allergy. He will need walks in quiet countryside where he can use his nose!
Hunter is the friendliest, happiest boy, who has been a 'pleasure' for staff to look after. The eight-year-old Akita is always smiling and wagging his tail. He is fully housetrained, happy to be left alone for a few hours and is great around the house. He walks beautifully on lead and loves his walks, he also loves having a little play with his toys. He has been fine with other dogs, could live with a friendly female dog pending meet and greet. He could live with children aged 10+.
