Talbot Specialist School celebrates surprise £5,000 donation from PaperCut Software with new library plan

An exciting new library space is coming to Sheffield-based Talbot Specialist School following a surprise £5,000 donation from PaperCut Software - a leader in print management solutions.
Four PaperCut partners nationwide – including Kyocera - were awarded a quarter share of a £20,000 prize pot to pledge to a school of their choice through the company’s 2025 EDU Hero initiative. The library is expected to be ready for use in May.
Commenting on its nomination for the £5,000 prize, Heather Partington, headteacher of the publicly-funded Talbot Specialist School, said: “The donation has come as a complete surprise! We’re extremely grateful that Kyocera chose us, and we’re proud of the work we have done to reduce print volumes using PaperCut. The donation will enable us to create a new library space for students to help their love of books and learning to thrive in a safe, comfortable and modern environment.” The school is attended by 253 students aged between 11 and 19, and it has 38 full time teaching staff, including the Senior Leadership Team.
Steve Pearce, Group head of marketing, Kyocera, added: “Few things are more rewarding than being able to give back to the customers or communities that we serve. That’s especially true in the case of education, and Talbot Specialist School stands out for the exceptional results it achieves. We’re excited that this investment will enable it to fast track its plans for a new library space to benefit its students and their appreciation of books and reading.”
PaperCut Software’s 2025 EDU Hero Initiative is a collaborative program designed to give back to the education community. It provided a total of £20,000 in funding to support local educational institutions in bolstering their IT infrastructure and student resources. By working closely with partners, PaperCut aims to provide tangible support to the IT teams who maintain the backbone of modern learning environments.
Like each of the selected schools, Talbot Specialist School utilises PaperCut to manage its print environments, reduce waste, and improve security. To learn about PaperCut print management solutions visit www.papercut.com
