'Let’s keep Sheffield and South Yorkshire free from hate' group says as they plan counter-protest at hotel
A city centre march is planned
A march is planned through the streets of Sheffield this summer in opposition to racism and the far right.
Protestors have planned the gathering for Saturday, June 13, at Tudor Square in the city centre after Operation Raise The Colours announced their intentions to stage a protest outside a hotel housing refugees.

The counter-demonstration will gather at 11am and has been backed by trade unions, BAME organisations, faith groups and campaigns such as Care for Calais, Sheffield Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Sheffield Save our NHS and South Yorkshire Women Against the Far Right.
A spokesperson for Sheffield Stand Up to Racism said: "This is another attempt to divide our community.
“Despite claiming to protect women and children, such protests often attract neo-Nazis, far-right agitators, and men convicted of domestic violence.
"Racist rhetoric from the media and politicians emboldens these groups - but they are not the majority. We want to stand together, outnumber them, and show support for our refugee neighbours by preventing this far right march.
"On Saturday March 28, half a million people marched in London against the far right on the historic Together Alliance protest and we joined Palestine supporters marking Nakba Day to outnumber Tommy Robinson's pathetic event in the capital on May 16. This shows there is real hope to push back against racism and hate.
"We must keep these groups isolated, challenge their lies, and stand united.
"Together, let’s keep Sheffield and South Yorkshire free from hate."
