It’s been a busy first day back open for many shops in Sheffield as shoppers indulged in retail therapy for the first time in nearly three months.

Large queues formed outside several stores in the city centre and Meadowhall, including Primark, Sports Direct and USC.

The Star has also launched its #SupportLocal campaign, which is asking readers to give the city’s independent shops your much-needed custom. These shops make Sheffield unique so it is vital we give them the boost they need.
