Here are Owls writer Dom Howson's player ratings (only players with more than five appearances this season have been included):
9. Michael Hector 8
The Chelsea loanee deservedly scooped the player of the season award after an outstanding season. Classy on the ball and commanding in the air, Hector was a shining light in for Wednesday fans in a rollercoaster year. Photo: Steve Ellis
10. Jordan Thorniley 6
Was deployed in a number of positions and the former Everton youngster has never let the side down. Thorniley, primarily a centre-half, largely provided back up to Lees and Hector in the last couple of months. Photo: Steve Ellis
11. Daniel Pudil 5
Not a year to remember for the Czech Republic international. He played a meagre 11 times, with his last appearance coming in Luhukay's final match in charge at Swansea City. Will leave Hillsborough at the end of his contract. Photo: JP
12. Matt Penney 5.5
He was one of the few bright spots at the beginning of the year. Penney looked an exciting prospect and put in a string of fine performances between September and October. He has not hit those heights since due to a loss of form and a serious shoulder injury. Photo: Steve Ellis
