A large fire which forced residents to flee their burning home in the early hours this morning was started deliberately, police believe.
Emergency services were called to the property on Doe Royd Crescent in Parsons Cross at around 2.30am after a caravan parked in the drive outside was set alight.
Nobody was injured during the huge blaze which then spread to the front of the house.
Police believe that a group of arsonists set the caravan on fire.
Dramatic pictures have revealed the scale of the damage, with the front of the home burnt out and all three front-facing windows smashed.
Police were also called to the scene and remained at the property throughout the night.
Officers believe that the fire was started deliberately and have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
