Commercial director takes on 800km cycling challenge for St Luke’s Hospice
Jude Coulthard from Sheffield-based IT support company Resolve is gearing up for an extraordinary challenge to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice.

He will cycle the entire North Coast 500 route, a 500-mile loop around the Scottish coastline, in just six days, starting this week.
The NC500, typically completed over several weeks by motorbike or caravan, is known for its dramatic scenery, challenging climbs and unpredictable weather.

One of the toughest sections includes the Bealach na Bà, the UK’s largest road climb, reaching more than 6,000ft above sea level.
Jude, who first took up road cycling in 2018, will be cycling around 130 km per day, with over 10,000m of total elevation across the route.
Funds raised will support the essential palliative and end‑of‑life care St Luke’s provides to people across Sheffield.
It is a charity that is close to the hearts of several members of the Resolve team.
Jude says: “I’ve always loved Scotland. As soon as I heard about the NC500, it went straight onto my bucket list. Cycling gives me a feeling of absolute freedom, and taking on this route feels like the perfect adventure.
"I have been gradually increasing my monthly distance from around 600km to 12000km. My indoor setup is great. I connect my bike to a resistance device and use an app called Zwift so I can ‘ride’ with people all over the word virtually. I've never travelled such a distance in such a short space in time, it is hard to know how I will feel when I've completed the challenge.”
