There are plenty of woodland walks, scenic views and picturesque villages to enjoy this winter in and around Sheffield that lend themselves well to colder weather.
And there’s always a way to make a mission out of it - maybe you can head out to see the newly arrived cows on Rainbow Meadow, or complete a circular walk while taking in the view of the moor at Redmires Reservoirs.

The Moss Valley is a beautiful rural area in south east Sheffield filled with ancient woodlands that are a lovely spot for a walk. 10. Higger Tor in the Peak District
Higger Tor in the Peak District will reward those who take on its small climb up to the plateau with dazzling views all around. It may be less than a mile around but packs in a full range of experiences including dangerous drops, amazing gritstone formations, an iron age settlement, and wild growth even in winter. | NW
