Founded in 1864, Sheffield Photographic Society is one of the oldest in the world, but prides itself on keeping up to date.
Twice a year, it showcases the work of its members with a public exhibition at Sheffield Cathedral and the Winter Gardens.
The Perspectives Exhibition showcases 170 images from 36 photographers. There is a wide range of subject matter for the exhibition and those of you who have seen one of their exhibitions before will know of the quality and breadth of photography on display.
One of the artists, Mike Smith ,who was showing his photos that he took when he went on safari in Kenya said: “It’s great to see so many different types of photographs on display. So often they stay on reels or on phones, it’s great that we can all experience them.”
