Founded in 1864, Sheffield Photographic Society is one of the oldest in the world, but prides itself on keeping up to date.
Twice a year, it showcases the work of its members with a public exhibition at Sheffield Cathedral and the Winter Gardens.
The Perspectives Exhibition showcases 170 images from 36 photographers. There is a wide range of subject matter for the exhibition and those of you who have seen one of their exhibitions before will know of the quality and breadth of photography on display.
One of the artists, Mike Smith ,who was showing his photos that he took when he went on safari in Kenya said: “It’s great to see so many different types of photographs on display. So often they stay on reels or on phones, it’s great that we can all experience them.”

Processed Cheese - A photographic homage to Andy Warhol Andrew said: “A while ago at one of Sheffield city centre events, I took a random photo of a food vendor's stack of tins containing nacho cheese sauce. I played around with it in photoshop when someone said it reminded them of the famous Campbell Soup picture. This gave me an idea and this is my homage to Andy” | Iconic

Hokkaido is Japan’s northernmost island and its landscape is perfect for photography. When we think of Japan we think of sunshine or in spring with the cherry blossoms so it was nice to see what a contrast the country looks like in winter. | Iconic
