The owners of Tank Nightclub, on Arundel Gate, in the city centre, said they were left ‘angry’, ‘confused’ and ‘heartbroken’ by the latest announcement, but vowed ‘we will rave again very soon’.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday delayed so-called Freedom Day, the date on which the last remaining restrictions will be lifted and nightclubs across England can reopen, by four weeks to July 19.

“How can we keep picking ourselves up? How do we keep going when he keeps moving the goal posts.
“He now says it’s another four weeks until we can open on July 19th.
“We have spent so much time, effort and money getting ready for the reopening. We have so much new exciting stuff to show you. We have so many amazing acts booked for you.”

It described how it was once again having to reschedule all its sold-out parties and acts as it frantically attempts to rejig its busy summer schedule.
Anyone who is unable to make the rescheduled dates will be entitled to a refund but the club urged people to show their support by holding onto their tickets for when the club does finally reopen.
“Right now we’re angry, we’re confused, we’re heartbroken,” the statement continued.
“But we will be back. They cannot keep us shut forever!

“We will rave again very soon and under our brand new lights.”
Tank shared a post from the Night Time Industries Association, with the hashtag #LetUsDance.
That post described how as of June 21, clubs will already have been closed for 449 days, with billions of pounds in revenue lost, 700,000 jobs gone and thousands of artists and other creatives facing financial hardship.
