Join Heeley City Farm at their Autmn Festival and visit their four new little piglets
Vivienne Junior the Large Black pig has given birth to her first ever litter of four piglets.
Large Black pigs are incredibly rare and are currently categorised as ‘critical’ on the latest RBST watchlist, which makes the safe arrival of these pigs extra special.
Heeley City Farm are thrilled to report that they are all settling in wonderfully, and Vivienne Junior is an absolute natural at being a mum.

Coming up on the 26th of September is Heeley City Farm’s Autumn Festival and Show. The festival will feature fantasitc local and independent breweries such as Triple Point Brewery + Bar, Abbeydale Brewery , Stancill Brewery, Blue Bee Brewery ,and Tapped Brew Co. Vegan and gluten free options available.
They will be celebrating the harvest season with a packed day of food, community, creativity and countryside fun right here in the heart of Sheffield. Whether you're entering the Produce Show, meeting the animals, enjoying delicious local food, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there's something for all ages to enjoy.

A few highlights include: Once in a Millennium - brewed to celebrate Blue Bee's 1000th beer, a rich dark porter with smooth chocolate and roasted flavours. Like A Villain from Duality Brew Co - a hazy pale bursting with tropical fruit, citrus and juicy berry notes.
They will be operating a £1 glass deposit scheme. Return your empty glass and get your £1 back, or leave it with them as a small but hugely appreciated donation to support the farm. Or you can make a one off donation here: https://www.justgiving.com/charity/heeleycityfarm.
When visiting the farm you may have noticed there have been a lot of renovations going on to make it more enjoyable for everyone visiting.

You may remember that their pond was sadly vandalised back in May. The outpouring of support, offers of help, and donations they received from everyone was absolutely incredible.
Heeley City Farm said: “Over the weekend, a super team of people have completely brought our pond back to life. It was an amazing few days of community, hard graft, and people pulling together to make something special. We are so incredibly touched by the generosity of Matt at NicePonds, who led the project. Matt negotiated a huge amount of free and discounted quality materials from his suppliers, and along with his talented team- Dylan, Micah, Oliver, Cathy, Tony, and partner Emily, created a stunning new pond in their free time. Even a crew of friends, family and Arthur the dog came to help.”
This mammoth effort wouldn’t have been possible without some fantastic local businesses stepping up: Alex of 4Hire - Sheffield Plant Hire, who was absolutely indispensable, giving free use of his machines and time, Joseph of Shimwells of Youlgreave, who provided free delivery of all the stone. Dave from DWW Electrical services.
The farm added: “A massive thank you also goes out to our brilliant local volunteers- Alan, Rachel, and Lydia, along with Andy of Ecological Land Maintenance CIC, and of course, our wonderful Heeley City Farm Youth Volunteers who gave so much time and care to the project. We are completely blown away by the effort and time everyone put in. The redevelopment of this space will continue as the new pond settles in, but for now, we just wanted to say a massive thank you- both to this team and to everyone who supported us.”
