Barnsley’s town centre will be transformed into a festive attraction from tomorrow as the all-new Barnsley Christmas Market opens at The Glass Works Square.

The market, operated for the first time by award-winning market specialists Market Place, will run daily from 10am on Friday 29 November until Saturday 21 December.

Up to 30 decorated chalets will fill the square, offering international street food and festive gifts.

Visitors can expect French crêpes, Belgian macaroons, giant bratwurst from the Schwenkgrille, Greek gyros and loaded crumble pots.

Gift stalls will sell personalised decorations, handmade candles, jewellery and Ecuadorian crafts.

A traditional carousel and a dedicated photobooth will also be on site, while the German Bar will serve glühwein and spiced ciders with plenty of seating for those looking to relax.

The market is expected to become a major feature of Barnsley’s festive calendar, combining international flavours and local traders in one, family friendly, festive space.

Thurs–Sat: 10am–7pm (bar open until 8pm)
Sun: 11am–5pm (bar open until 6pm)
