Sheffield Theatres’ artistic director Robert Hastie said he was “overwhelmed” with the news.

”We shared a wonderful 2019 with our audiences, bringing four world premieres to our stages, as well as continuing our commitment to investing in talent across the city with our new creative hub - The Bank,” he said.

“These wins are a testament to all the brilliant people who make Sheffield Theatres what is it. I’m delighted by the celebration of our fantastic technical and production teams, whose skill and dedication has been recognised for Life of Pi.”

The Stage is the world’s oldest theatre publication.
