Popular Sheffield artist forced to close shop temporarily after flooding

Artist hopes to have the venue open again soon

A popular Sheffield artist has been forced to close his shop over flooding.

Luke Horton, well known for his murals around the city and his pictures on the wall of Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough Stadium, says he has had to temporarily close his shop in Hillsborough.

He announced the closure on his social media pages, explaining it was as a result of a water leak.

He said: “Unfortunately, our Hillsborough shop is currently closed due to a flood caused by a leak from the unit above.

“We’re working hard to get everything repaired and back to normal as quickly as possible, so please bear with us while we sort things out.

“The good news is our online shop remains open, so you can still order here.”

He is aiming to have the Luke Horton Art shop, on Middlewood Road, re-opened well in time for its Christmas launch weekend, which is due to be on October 17 and October 18, and hopefully before that.

He added: “Thanks for all your patience and support, it means a lot!”
