London four-piece Indie folk band, Night Flight are set to perform at Sheffield music shop, Record Junkee, based on Earl Street, just off the Moor, on Tuesday, October 12, as part of an UK tour.

The band blend shimmering, uplifting melodies with textured, atmospheric guitar music reminiscent of Real Estate, Deerhunter and The War On Drugs.

Lockdown became a creative boon for Night Flight, with their EP, Songs from Echo Zoo, coming together by the band exchanging ideas remotely.

Night Flight guitarist, Harry Phillips, said: “I always loved albums like Music From Big Pink by The Band, which have their own defining sound, and it used to bug me that we hadn’t got there. How can we pare back and find our own, four-piece formula? Now I feel we are approaching it.”

The band say Songs from Echo Zoo marks the point at which they found themselves, something that Sam Holmes on lead vocals and rhythm guitar says is a good thing because he found the process “all consuming.”

He said “It lives inside me, like a parasite. We’re pretty DIY and self sufficient, from the artwork to the video editing. Celebrating the music we love, the joy of being in a collective.”
